Grilled Chicken with Garlic Brown Sugar Sauce
This grilled chicken recipe is packed with flavor, thanks to a sweet and smoky brown sugar garlic sauce. Juicy, tender, and easy to make, these chicken skewers are perfect for grilling season!
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 4 medium boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1–2 red bell peppers, diced
- 2 tbsp 2 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro (for garnish)
For the Marinade:
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade:In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic, cayenne pepper (if using), and oregano.
- Season the Chicken:Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized cubes and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Marinate:Toss the chicken pieces in half of the prepared marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes (or up to overnight for deeper flavor).
- Grill the Chicken:Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.Thread the marinated chicken and diced bell peppers onto skewers.Grill for about 3-4 minutes per side, basting occasionally with the remaining marinade, until the chicken is fully cooked and has nice grill marks.
- Serve & Garnish:Transfer the grilled chicken skewers to a serving platter, sprinkle with fresh cilantro, and enjoy!

- For best results, soak wooden skewers in water for 15-30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
